Things to do and see during your visit
Victoria is a dynamic city with a wide array of cultural and tourist attractions. Please visit the Tourism Victoria website. Beyond Victoria itself, participants will have the opportunity to catch the world famous Butchart Gardens, or enjoy a hike in East Sooke Park. If you have a little more time at the end of the conference, Cathedral Grove and peaceful, coastal Parksville are within easy reach on a day trip. If your time allows, sumptuous Tofino and the Pacific Rim National Park also make a glorious weekend getaway to add to your trip to Victoria.
Activities to Add to Your Conference Attendance
On Friday October 4th, a guided tour of Hatley Castle will be offered at 2.30pm. The cost is $20 and this can be reserved at the time of registration. Places are limited and the option on the registration page will close once the maximum number of participants has been reached. Please note that Hatley Castle is not otherwise open to the public.
Other tours of the grounds, in particular walking tours acknowledging the significance of Hatley Park to Indigenous life and culture, will be advertised closer to the start of the conference and will be free of charge.
The Gardens remain open to participants throughout the conference unless they are being used for a specific Royal Roads function.
